Sunday, June 9, 7 am. It was raining in Brownville. Clouds were running into the mountain summits . F.W.

Sunday, June 9, 9:30 am. Edinburg (Map 33) A rain-soaked coyote crossed I-95 in no apparent haste, and made no visible efforts to conceal himself once he reached the median strip. F.W.

Sunday, June 9, 10 am. Brownville (Map 42) The mountains were now in sunlight. The weather front had moved only a few miles South: very slow for the movement of a front, and an unusual direction for front movement. F.W.

Sunday, June 9, 2 pm. Orono (Map 23) The front had moved further South and its edge had become become more ragged. Judging from the above landmarks, I estimate the speed at about six miles an hour--very slow compared to what's usual for our area. F.W.
