Tuesday, June 11. T19 MD BPP (Map 25) Black bear trapped and relocated for disturbing bee hives on blueberry barrens. B.G.

Thursday, June 13. E. Orland (Map 23) Toddy Pond near the dam: We heard the first bull frog of the season. The peepers are petering out. A chattering sound is heard over the peeper sound; I guess that this is the sound of another frog species. W.D.
Thursday, June 13. Harpswell (Map 6) Bailey's Island. American black duck family, including four juveniles, swimming in surf just a few feet from shoreside rocks. Parents appeared to be demonstrating feeding techniques to the young. F.W.
Friday, June 14. Garland (Map 32) These moth species seen today: spotted tussock, lappet, big poplar sphinx, whitebanded black, large maple spanworm and hummingbird moth. R.J.
Friday, June 14. E. Orland (Map 23) Toddy Pond near the dam: an unusual occurrence this time of year here: 3 loons feeding together. Our pair of about 10 years does not appear to be nesting here this year. We built a floating nest for them. I do not think they are using that nest. W.D.
Saturday, June 15. Garland (Map 32) No-see-'um's arrived. M.J.
Saturday, June 15. E. Orland (Map 23) Toddy Pond: many pitcher plants are in blossom on the floating islands at the top of Toddy Pond. W.D.
Saturday, June 15. Otis (Map 24) Great crested flycatcher taking dust bath in sandy/gravelly area. B.G.
Sunday, June 16. Bar Harbor (Map 16) Eastern garter snake, approximately 14 inches long, observed on Dorr Mountain in leaf litter among rocks. The first I've seen this year. F.W.
