Lincolnville. 3. I went out on the deck to enjoy my coffee and before two steps they were IN my coffee.

Mount Vernon. 1 After the mild winter and early spring, I expected them to be worse sooner than this. So far, I would say the black foes are light or none. I noticed some a week back, when I was working in the garden. But the black flies have not been noticeable more recently. Presumably they are waiting for Mother’s Day to swarm.

The bat photo is great! I haven't been able to photograph a bat yet. I might get a wing tip at the edge of a photo but nothing like this. Great job!

It's hard to say precisely how bad they'll be, but I'm sure they'll still be out. Bring plenty of bug spray, light weight long sleeve shirts and if you wear one, a hat. They're seldom out all day. When the temperature warms they're usually down for the day and don't come back out until early evening.

Hi , On April 21, 2012 we spotted a large Cooper Hawk in a back yard of King Hill Rd. Naples. He stayed in the tree for a very long time, then wobbled (with his large feet ) around the yard. He eventually flew off showing his beautiful wings. I've heard him but not seen since. The camera is ready.
Cheers,
Vikki
